Talking to few people about my recent trip to St. Thomas and of upcoming future trips, it was pointed out to me that I travel quite a bit. I didn’t understand why that is a problem until I started to examine things more closely.
Apparently, it gives the impression of not having roots or not liking to stay in one place. While people may see that as a negative, I see that as a positive.
I have roots, I am citizen of the planet Earth. I do not have allegiance to a city, state, country or continent. I live in the same planet as someone from Korea, or South Africa.
I have always been fascinated by other cultures, languages, sceneries.
Travel, is not to get away, but a means to learn more about being a citizen of Earth. It’s about opening my mind and experiencing new things in different settings. It’s about becoming a better person. It’s about discovering yourself while discovering others, and the world.
With that said, I have already stated that I will be moving to Barcelona next year. I am now announcing it to the world. While I enjoy living in Los Angeles, it’s not really me. For the past few years I have said that I wanted to move to Europe and by then I will be out of my responsibilities keeping me in Los Angeles; There isn’t any reason to stay. While I might miss all my friends here, I think they will happy for me as this something I have said I wanted to do.
While this does not mean I will stay in Spain indefinitely… It will probably just be a start. I want to travel. I want to visit places. I want to visit all continents (maybe except Antarctica) before the age of 30. And I want to do this before settling down.
Maybe this is not how you see the world… but I do. I just wanted to share.
