Spain, Uncle, and His Letter
Posted on
I’m short on time, so I’ll be brief.
Spain is amazing, I had been here before but that was like ten years ago. I love my cousins, they’re amazing. I love that I was forced to speak Spanish, and now I have a very Spaniard accent, at least for a day or two.
I really cherish what my uncle did. In his last few days, he sat down and wrote me a letter. I will forever be change by the contents and words of that letter. What I do regret is that I never took the time to really get to know who he was before his death. All I have now are his personal journals to try to piece a better picture of who he was and how much his life will impact mine.
As I sit here waiting for my flight back to the states, I try to reflect on my life and how many thing I have missed out on. For what, for getting somewhere to doing something that wasn’t that important.
All this trip has reminded me is that sometimes we are in such a hurry to get somewhere we forget about the beauty of the jorney.
P.S. It’s Monday about 8:10 am here. So if I’m kind of pissy or rude or just don’t give a hoot its because of jet lag and lack of sleep. Just a word of warning.
A rosary in holy water.
This was my way of paying respect to my uncles’ memory.
